Triple-Infused Goldenrod Balm

Triple-Infused Goldenrod Balm
(Formerly called Goldenrod Salve)
The "Solid Gold" Edition
We have taken your favorite Slow Goods staple and upgraded the process and formula to create the absolute highest standard of herbal body care. We’ve even poured it into a golden tin to celebrate the upgrade.
Two Native Plants. One Healing Tin.
The biggest recipe change is the oil. More than half of this balm is made of organic Jojoba oil. This is admittedly an outrageous amount of a top-shelf skin oil, but hear us out…
While most Jojoba is now imported from the Middle East, the plant is actually native to the Sonoran Desert in southwestern USA. So we were absolutely giddy to connect with an Arizona family farm that’s growing organic jojoba oil by actively rewilding the desert—providing food and shelter for native wildlife and eliminating water waste.
By sourcing jojoba domestically, we aren't just getting a higher quality ingredient and reducing the product’s carbon footprint; we are also supporting a farm with a vision.
This balm is a partnership between two farms and two native plants: goldenrod from the Sandhills of NC, and Jojoba from the arid deserts of AZ.
The Process: Triple-Infused Potency
Most herbal oils are infused once. We didn't stop there.
To create this batch, we steeped fresh, farm-grown Goldenrod blossoms in the Jojoba, strained them, and then added more fresh blossoms to the same oil. Then we did it a third time.
The result is a deep, resinous, highly concentrated oil that captures the absolute maximum amount of the plant’s anti-inflammatory properties.
The Relief
This is still the hardworking remedy you know. Goldenrod has been used for centuries to soothe inflammation and aches. We use it at Slow Farm to rejuvenate tired hands and sore muscles after a long day’s work.
•Because Jojoba mimics the skin's natural sebum, this balm absorbs deeper and faster than our previous salve, leaving your skin silky, not greasy.

ETHICALLY &
SUSTAINABLY GROWN
We take pride in ethically and sustainably growing our ingredients. Our acres of native goldenrod provide not only healing plant medicine for humans but also abundant habitat for pollinators, spiders, lizards, and ground birds. These resilient plants require minimal care and resources, making them sustainable crops that contribute to a healthier planet.
All of our products are free of palm oil and palm oil derivatives.
HAND HARVESTED
& PROCESSED
We hand-harvest all of the botanicals we use, ensuring we never take more than we can process at a time. The same person who picks the goldenrod also dries it, infuses it into organic oil, and creates a nourishing salve just for you. We produce our goods in small batches to guarantee freshness.
FARMING FORWARD BY
THINKING BACKWARDS
At Slow Farm, we believe in farming forward by thinking backwards. Rather than viewing soil as a means to support farming, we see farming as an opportunity to restore and nourish our soil. We tackle environmental challenges by researching and implementing livestock and plant species that contribute to sustainable solutions.
This slow and sustainable method has allowed us to plant over 400 native herb, fruit, and nut plants on our 47-acre farm, promoting biodiversity and creating a resilient ecosystem that can also nourish our community.Native plants require no fertilizers or irrigation, as they have evolved to thrive in the local environment. This makes them highly sustainable food and wellness resources.
The non-native crops we grow, such as camellia sinensis, tulsi, and rosemary, are xerotolerant, meaning they can grow in hot and dry conditions.
